FASHION GUIDE

Deciding what to wear to your photo shoot can be so frustrating! I know, I’ve been there. Your outfit says a lot about you, and trying to make such a purposeful statement can be hard. So I have created a fashion guide, along with some tips to help you on your journey on finding that perfect outfit!

Included in this guide are simple pieces that will wow the camera and flatter you from head to toe!

s h o e s : oh the shoe!  When finding a shoe for your engagement pictures, wear something that has color and personality. Whether that personality is  a great shape such as a sexy heel, or a fabulous flower and diamonds atop a classic pair of ballerina flats. Come on, your feet wanna look cute too!

s h i r t  s : Finding a shirt can probably be the hardest part! At least for me. Finding a shirt that flatters my curves is one thing, but then having to match with my hubby is a whole different story. Don't you fret my friend! Matching shirts is so 1990's.

When finding that perfect shirt, be very aware of your “assets.”  Have great curves? Show them off! Arms not as tone as you want them? Hide them! Avoid bagginess in any form, and anything that might be too risque.  Guys, try layering your clothes. You might be surprised that your plain v-neck would look smashing under a sleek khaki jacket.   GREAT IDEA: HAVE YOUR CLOTHES TAILORED TO FIT YOU!

d r e s s e s : Is there anything more classy than that little black dress, or anything more fun than that breezy summer dress? Dresses are a G R E A T thing to wear for your engagement photos! They give you a great opportunity to express your style in such a classy, upbeat-kind-of-way.

a c c e s s o r i e s : HOLLA! Accessories just might be the most important component to the ultimate success of your engagement photographs. Throw a beautiful flower headband in your hair for a pop of fun, or pearls around your neck for a splash of elegance, and don't forget those chandelier earrings you saw hanging up in Nordstrom!

o u t f i t s : Lets now practice what we have just learned.  Go to the mall, or your closet and start bringing everything together. Find items that have a pop of color, tailored fit lines, different layers to add textures, and your great smile to tie it all together! Below are some examples of “tying” everything together.

*all clothes shown are from Banana Republic, J.Crew, Anthropologie, Nordstroms, and American Eagle.

**HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend all 4 stores when shopping for your engagement out fits. Especially J.Crew & Anthropologie.
